Great Dame

Lizzy Grant, aka Lana Del Rey lovingly refers to herself as the "gangsta Nancy Sinatra," writing music that is "the sonic equivalent of a Vincent Gallo film." Most women don't even know who Vincent Gallo is let alone his sonic equivalent. The gracefully dueling souls of this schizophrenic reincarnation of Ann Margret may end becoming the very essence of what she so skillfully celebrates-a star.
Ann Margret
The pop culture prowess of a G4TV hostess with the soul of a sultry vixen trapped back in the golden age of Hollywood glamour. You have to appreciate an artist with such a defined vision of her work, equally distributed to the audible and visual realm as a cohesive thematic event. Lana puts it all on display in the video for her single, "Video Games" A breakneck edited montage of iconic imagery which sets the classic Hollywood fairytale up against the brutality of society in a fashion that would make David Lynch proud to call her daughter.
No releases to speak of, only a handful of demos raises the mystic level of an emerging artist teetering on the brink of innovation or disaster. The initial releases have been everything from Britney Spears-esque dance to swinging 60's pop. The lady is begging to be produced by an individual who can bring Fiona Apple like focus to such a broadly influenced and left field talent. Watch Out!
