Japanese scientists have been diligently exploring the possibility of creating a man made universe in the lab. The theories on such a creation even being possible are based on physicists flexing heavy concepts like, monopoles, vacuums, and heavy particles. I won't bore you with an article on quantum jargon but allow you to imagine how delightful such a concept would be in a novel applicatory setting. Governmental defense departments would surely only want to see some plan to weaponize such a product but consider the commercial benefits in the public sector? Imagine what it would be like to own your very own microscopic universe with a miniature black hole right in the center. It could revolutionize aquariums the way sea monkeys amazed your parents so many decades ago.

I can only see two really obvious stumbling blocks. Black holes, no matter what the size, emit radiation and i'm guessing it won't be a valuable source of vitamins and minerals either. Yet in the immortal words of our favorite street peddler from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, "What's a little fallout eh?
On the other hand, a more difficult matter entirely is inflation. No i'm not referring to the strange monetary phenomenon that mysteriously causes the price of movie tickets to grow at an obscenely out of control rate. Im referring to the rate in which any universe will naturally expand. Is the universe expanding? You bet! Your little micro universe may be okay in it's enclosure for a few thousand years but your great great great grandchildren (squared2) may find upgrading our pet universe's living quarters very difficult. To make matters a bit more complicated, you can't just throw a universe out. I shudder to think of what may become of me if i have the unfortunate pleasure of unknowingly stumbling over a mico-cosmic blackhole just laying on the sidewalk waiting for big garbage day pick-up.

While modern science works out the kinks we should just sit back and enjoy the exceptional sounds of future music. Everybody's favorite rodent, Deadmau5, has just released a brand new track, "Where My Keys," in support of his tour and compilation, Meowingtons Hax Tour Trax. The simplistic and powerful fist pumping anthem is vintage Deadmau5 artistry. The precision of beat, melody, and sheer sonic sound quality of his samples will straighten you out of even after the worst hit of acid possible. Enjoy this coders dream track.

Just like Christmas in late august, i was greeted to another pleasant surprise in my inbox early this morning. Papercutz is an Portuguese electro pop outfit that formed in mid 2000's by it's only official member, Bruno Miguel. The project has gained some significant recognition in the UK and continues to build a strong following state side with a steady doses of remix releases for various artists around the known universe. Wanna know what life is like on a gas giant? Chances are you will never know in the flesh but allow the audible delight of 'Neptunian Moons' from Papercutz & Pleq wisp you away into the cosmos. This ambient and sometimes chaotic soundscape is a cold and deep trance of spatial melody and mesmerizing repetition. The Papercutz remix of Sun Glitters-Love Me is another stand out track, bound together with a great red spot storming in ethereal vocals while held steady in a gritty drum pulse. Papercutz style feels interstellar, a beautiful void that tempts me to make love in my astronaut suit.
